-pops- Posted December 24, 2004 Report Share Posted December 24, 2004 Has this happened only recently e.g. after a recent change to your computer - an upgrade of Internet software (I.E. 5.x to I.E. 6).Does this happen with other browsers e.g Firefox? You might wish to download an alternative browser to try it.Personally, I almost never use I.E. any longer, much preferring Firefox which is faster and more stable on my machines. spikeychris Posted December 24, 2004 Report Share Posted December 24, 2004 Because this happens when you have more than one page at a time open and the register line 'EAX=00000000 CS=17af EIP=00006d4f EFLGS=00000202' is displayed you could have a cache or cookie problem. Export your cookies usingfile/import and export or just delete them. Then as you are using Win98 restart and boot to DOS. Run the following commands from the windows directory IE: c:\windows\>smartdrvdeltree historydeltree tempor~1deltree cookiesReboot with Ctrl Alt Delete and see if you can open more that one page again. scuzzman Posted December 27, 2004 Report Share Posted December 27, 2004 Make sure you're running anti-spy, anti-virus, etc on your computer, and with the latest definitions. These can often cause this problem. With the frequency that this is occuring though, while I'm not reccomending you do it, I would backup, reformat, and reinstall.
