doug Posted December 28, 2004 Report Share Posted December 28, 2004 Think I've located the cause, it wasthe Dvd player. Had to do a reformat (twice) second time worked after disconnecting DVD player. First reformat and wouldn't accept CD key. Antway I'm back up and looking for advise. Minimum installation so far e.g. Win XP + SP2, Avg 7.0 Free and Zone Alarm. Both from archives. Tried to update AVG and think I made an error in telling it to update from a folder. Which it tries but there's nothing there. How can I change things to point to the update site?Hey I'm now using Caps. Plaster cast on desk and I can poke the Caps key with one finger while typing with middle finger of left hand. Further good news G'sons operation wound is starting to heal over also our first on-line groceries order placed bt wife with Tesco's yesterday has arrived, OK. Thats why I didn't want to swap the mouse to a southpaw job.If I could get a speedy response on the AVG will be very grateful as well as any other recomendations for security as I need to do some on-line banking.PS all a bit ironic as I had placed an order with Dabs for a dual layer DVD writer to enabl me to do decent backups. :( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
