Red Cross appeal

The Red Cross in the US failed to deliver funds to the needy during the 9-11 crisis. Additionally the executives are paid excessive salaries and bonus's, funneling off money intended for victims of disasters such as that in Asia:

They have not shown how they have fixed their internal problems and greed. We therefore choose to donate to the Salvation Army, Unicef and our Church.

I do not want to lessen the impact of your post andsome, just to offer a word of caution on who you send your donations to, atleast in the US. ;)

You just cannot condemn the British Red Cross because of problems with their American counterparts. They have a fine record. As far as I am concerned as long as people give that is what matters. We all have our preferred charities. I was quite happy to give to the British Red cross appeal, and I am sure that many other British people will feel the same.
