I try to make people aware that WEP can be broken with freely available tools whenever talking about wireless security. It isn't easy though, and it's better to configure it than not. I honestly think it was implemented to give the wireless user a sense of security. Now I do think WAP is something worth having, (the wireless encryption on cell phones is awsome) but like HCA said, not many are using it.
