andsome
WELCOME to WF. If you have had Spyware, best to follow this link, and run Hijack this following the instructions carefully. You should post your log on the correct hijack forum, and one of the experts will look at it for you. There could of course be other reasons why the drive has become invisible.Hyjack this
madboy33
Right click "My Computer", select Properties, Hardware and then select Device manager. Now Under dvd/cd-roms (you will have to click on the plus sign) can you see the drive? If you can see the drive, does it have a yellow exclamation mark next to it?
rong
I think I had a similar problem in 98, but lost both my CD drives, did madboys thing and could get them back. I think it was a conflict between the drives sound card (sound blaster) and printer. this was after a new install of 98. if I got the drives back I lost the printer. The sound card was the problem. I think I changed the IRQ ? number of one to put it right. It never worked properly since that and in the end bought XP as it sorts out the problem.
