Now for some reason when i attempt to open this application i get this error message C:/windows/system32/autoexec.nt....................the file system is not suitable for running in MS dos and microsoft windows applications . ballbreaker Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Share Posted March 1, 2005 Ok -thanks for the link , i have tried all the windows help files and still no go . Tried it again just to be sure i didnt miss any steps as they have a lot of related problems for this error code and still could not get this application to run . The program i am runnign is designed to run with windows 98 but i have now tried running it with different credentials . The help file refers to problems with programs that are not installed . My program is already installed and will not run because of this error . I have looked through msconfig to see if somehow i disabled a start up file but everything is running . -pops- Posted March 8, 2005 Report Share Posted March 8, 2005 I was sent this by PMWell , now i have shmucked my registry up and cant seem to get it back to the way it was . My microsoft word keeps telling me that i have affected the global template and every time i close word , it asks if i want to replace a file . The manufacturer of the program recomends i let the admisnistrator have a peek at the original problem to try and alleviate this problem . Now i am lost in the wheels of confusion . Sorry for the long delay in posting back . Looks like i may have to do the reformat thing to fix this problem .Saving all my stored files to my spare hard drive and then i am gonna use the Delete button . If you guys think i am jumping to conclusions - let me know . Ive been running XP pro for a long time . Never had greif like this yet . Must be some amazingly good software for that money :) Be that as it may, for your Word problem, you could try to repair that program but you need the original Word or MS Office disc.Sometimes with a messed up system like you seem to have where all attempts at correction meet with failure, it may be best to do a fresh re-install.I would strongly advise, though, for the future, that you make a full backup of your system and keep it up-to-date so that if anything like this happens again, you have not lost nearly so much as you have done in this. The microsoft word problem still remains even after i have attempted to replace the normal file . I trie to replace the normal file with the OldNormal.dot file but it continues to pop up . My actual computer experience is about 3 years so never really had problems like this . No big deal , i will keep trying to fix it .The Original problem -Snap ON shop key is worth $12000.00 bucks . In my opinion , you guys have been more help than them .You have to wait 45 minutes on the phone for the tech support guys to get to ya !
