Boris Posted March 13, 2005 Report Share Posted March 13, 2005 I am !Living out in the sticks, I can't get cable. :angry: My existing uncapped Freeserve 576k costs me £27.99/month. :( To convert to 1MB Wanadoo will apparently charge me a one-off fee of £20 + £27.99/month, and then hit me with a 30Gb/month cap. :o Supanet will give me 1MB uncapped for £22.96/month ! :) Are there any reasons for me not to change ? :unsure: i.e. are there any disgruntled Supanet B/B users out there who want to put me off ? I'm with Zen, they're not cheap by any means but they have no restrictions whatsoever, no contract, so you can opt out at any time.They had me up and running in 3 days of placing order, I recommended my neighbour to them, she signed up using my connection at 5 pm Monday evening and the modem arrived at 8am Wed morning. I was over there at 10 am and 10 minutes later she was surfing and placing web-sites into her favourites folder.I have recommended about 7, maybe 8 people to them now and each one is over the moon with the service. Once you have phoned them to place an order you never need to phone, or contact them again because nothing goes wrong.They come first for speed/service/reliability month after month in the ADSL guide.Have a look at this page and tick Zen and any other five of your choice then read the results on comparison. Chris Posted March 13, 2005 Report Share Posted March 13, 2005 The only problem I'm having with Wanadoo is there not telling me of changes that ARE important.When I upgraded to the 1MEG the user name changed, so I couldn't connect.Recently the email settings have chnaged [due to a problem] and I was never informed.Apart from that they're reliable and fast. Freeserve has been very reliable and I'm happy - just miffed that other ISPs seem to up their service at no charge + without being asked.Supanet seem to be the worst of the 6 that I compared - so I think I'll be leaving them alone ! I would love to move up to 2 mb instead of 512k But even with my very limited downloading, just surfing and on occasions listening to on-line radio plus doing my on-line IT course which uses flash to display the lessons, I would be exceeding the 15 mb per month that most of the cheaper ones have you capped to. This along with the fact I'm so pleased with the service, I would be disapointed if I moved and lost the quality. :(PS: They did lower their price in december by £2 or so per month which when you take into account they charge VATon top, it brought my fee down from £28.99 to £24.99 per month. Antivirus and other bits and bobs plus 20 to 30 emails per week and my IT course, listen to a bit of music.
