trackrat Posted March 18, 2005 Report Share Posted March 18, 2005 Scarecrow man have you had any trouble with 32 bit drivers for hardware or peripherals.As I read an article that said a lot of 32 bit drivers will not work with the beta 64 bit OS. And during my browsing for solutions, I noticed that some DSL modems were not supported either.EDIT: Also the reason I don't use Linux...If things went my way, I'd have 3 Linux distro's and windows x64 on my comp. trackrat Posted March 18, 2005 Author Report Share Posted March 18, 2005 Thanks for the quick answer,.Linux recognises my cable connection with no problems, I have tried about 8 different distros and never had a problem with the cable modem but my new scanner will only work in windows as I forgot to do some research before I brought it to make sure it would run under Linux, still those programmers at SANE are having a go at writing drivers for it so it is just a case of wait and see.Have you tried any of the 64 bit Linux OS`s?.
