ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I have just downloaded and installed the Intel® Application Accelerator. I am not sure what I expected from it - everything running double as fast as before?Actually I do not notice any changes. Windows startup seems to take even longer than before (I do not wear a watch, so I couldn't measure if there was any difference), and normal applications also do not appear to start up or run faster.Does anyone here have any experience with the IAA, or perhaps even measured performance improvements? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I already uninstalled it! Three times the blue screen of death (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in USBPORT.SYS) within 30 minutes - that's it.Still curious if anyone else has any (good or bad) experience with IAA? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
It is getting bad! Uninstalled IAA and rebooted. But the blue screen of death continues.Every time I try to create a folder or subfolder on a net use virtual drive, the BSoD immiediately comes up. It still mentions DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but no longer USBPORT.SYS or any other module.I will try to go back using subst to create virtual drives, but net use worked extremely well for me after I had these Recycle Bin problems when using subst.Any help or suggestion welcome. scuzzman
I've not used it, but it does seem to have killed your system!I usually detest the use of this tool, but in order to bring your system to a useable state, can you restore it back to a few hours before you installed this software? andsome
Just done a search, and it appears to be a genuine Intel offering. I am always suspicious of anything that claims to speed up your computer in this fashion. If it is so good, why doesn't everyone already have it? scuzzman
Yes, this is genuine Intel offering... it just doesn't appear to like pwillener's PC.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Update: the crash does not occur if I allocate my virtual drives with subst. But still I'd like to go back to the last clean state. (Naturally I did not take a backup before installing IAA).But I remember there's an option somewhere to restore to the "last known good configuration". But this may have already gone since I rebooted at least half a dozen times since I installed that blasted thing.

Just started it, but it says "There are currently no restore points available."
