florinus Posted April 14, 2005 Report Share Posted April 14, 2005 my windows crashed. can't make it work - blue screen at start. so i had to reinstall it.few words....os: xp sp2, file system: ntfs. had to uninstall a driver and, after reboot, windows crash. blue screen at start. didn't work to load last good config or safe mode. cant repair with xp cdrom. in fact ... it keep reseting for ever.(i don't know if it help to remeber that it is a home computer, and i have admin rights on it. + 2 more users. my account was florin and password was florin. i also know the ADMINISTRATOR password: administrator)i mount my hdd to another computer, erase 'WINDOWS' and 'PROGRAM FILES' from my hdd and rename 'DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS' to 'DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS OLD'put my hdd back in, insert xp sp2 cdrom, install windows successfully and ... the BIG problem cant open folders under 'DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS OLD\Florin' where are o lot from my files. i also have some compressed folders there.the message is: "C:\Documents and Settings Old\Florin\Desktop is not accessible. THANK YOU. ohhhhh......... i feel good... nananana....it worked.i just try the windows safe mode.i'll describe the steps i made. first, there was no encription.then... login with your account, which have admin rights, select properties for the folder(s) --> security --> advanced --> owner --> point to your account (which you log in) --> check replace owner ... --> press apply.when you reboot in normal mode and login with your (admin) account everything should be ok.just recovered few weeks of work. should go to celebrate.thanks again scuzzman Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
