Adding RAM

Recommended Posts

If I "pop in" another module (the correct matching type, of course) will it be found and accomodated during the POST sequence or do I have to do something more exotic like poking about in the BIOS (or crossing myself and singing a psalm to Bill Gates)?

Look in your motherboard manual to check which slot your new memory fits. It's sometimes the case that the correct slot for extra memory is NOT the obvious one (i.e. the one adjacent to the memory already installed).
