draggin
My Sony Laptop has started to ignore one of its two memory slots, I currently have a 64mb module and a 128mb module and it does not matter which one I put in what slot it will only see one of the two slots (always the same one).I am guessing this is the beginning of the end, Anyone have any thoughts?? Belatucadrus
Click here seems there are a lot of people with thoughts on Sony laptops and vanishing memory and most of them are fairly unprintable.

draggin
I read the article mentioned by Belatucadrus. The problem that has struck my Laptop is quite common. In one of the post somebody mentioned a company in London that had repaired their Sony with a similar problem. I have contacted them and they said that it is a common fault, it can be repaired although not an easy job, the cost is just under £160 (which includes P&P).I must now decide if to get it repaired (4 year old basic model) or get a new oneTim
Sir Radfordin
Have a 2 year old Sony which has just been sent to France to be repaired under the 'extended warranty' after the hard drive pretty much gave up the ghost. Including the time spent recovering the data and convincing Sony it was dead it will have been out of action for about 30 days! You can buy laptops for around the £400 mark so spending £160 on a repair for a 4year old one may not be the best outlay.
