A safer environment looms

It is nice to see progress is being made to make us all safer.

I suppose this will be followed by kitchen taps that are welded shut to prevent murder by drowning, erection of concrete barriers across the entrance to all roads to prevent road accidents (but with compulsory fuel purchase for all vehicle owners), the closing of all hospitals to avoid cross infection, and the incarceration of all politicians to prevent war and the further spread of lunacy. Oh ... and someone might just think it worth while to pass legislation making killing illegal.

" When the researchers surveyed 10 chefs, none gave a reason why a long pointed knife was essential. Short ones were just as good. "

Anyone tried carving a chicken or ham with a paring knife :D :D

Possibly have a rounded tip on it, but you still need a long blade to do the slicing.

What the report omitted was the fact that these chefs were all employed in soup kitchens. (packeted soup kitchens)

I think that (red italicized part) would make me feel safer. At least some of them :D

I won't mention any names ;)

Let's dull up chisels so that they ride up and impale you :)

Round off slotted screwdrivers so that they slip out :)

Use toffee hammers instead of ice picks :)

Seal up the ends on retractable utliity knives Stanley :)

Lock all saws into mechanisms that prevents them from being pulled back and forth so that they can't cut :)

weld the (rounded) points of scissors together so that the sharp edges can't be exposed :)

I could go on :D

It's the brain behind the tool (or the fool behind the brain) :P

I am surprised that there has been no reponse from Amnesty International along the lines of "No, you can not bring in a ban on long pointy knives, because that will contravene the human rights of those people who just indugle in light stabbings as a form of relaxation and entertainment." And who can say them "Nay"?

Look out, those nice men in the white coats are coming again.
