scuzzman
You'll need to use a router NOT a hub.
dehydratedchicken
Thanks for that - I'll give the hub back and get a routerWhats the difference between a hub and a router (in simple terms)?I've attached the diagram I was using in case anyone else wants to know how to make the connectionsOn the picture it said "Router/Hub" so I thought either would work, only later did I realise it says "computer with one NIC and a router" under the titleWilllet you know how it goes and will post again if I have any further questionsThanks
scuzzman
A hub will simply "split" the connection from your modem, resulting in you pulling multiple public IP addresses from your ISP, whereas a router pulls one pulic IP, and assigns your personal computers/XBOX/etc private IP addresses. scuzzman
Your broadband is connected via a set-top box? Well, if you have ethernet, this will work.
