TizMe Posted June 19, 2005 Report Share Posted June 19, 2005 To lock a computer in a domain environment Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. Click Lock Computer. Windows displays the Computer Locked dialog box. Your system is now locked, preventing everyone except you or a system administrator from unlocking your system and viewing any open files or programs.To unlock your computer, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, type your password, and then click OK. If you are wanting to do that you will have to sacrifice your login screen, and with it fast user switching... To do it:Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > {User Accounts again if you're using category view} > Change the way users log on and off > Take away the checkmark beside "Use the Welcome Screen" (fast user switching will be disabled with it)After that you are pretty much good to go :DHope that could've been of some help- bobp Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I cannot find it on my computer.Could you please post a screen shot of this panel? I really, really, really want to enable that CTRL-ALT-DEL function on my only stand-alone system. nellie2 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Share Posted June 24, 2005 I just use the windows key+L that brings up my login screen so if I am leaving my computer for any length of time and don't want to leave it accessable then this locks the screen until I put my login password in.
