how can I edit emails received in outlook express

I use Outlook Express. Always have. I'm used to it. I can use it without thinking. (pause for laughter). :P :D :P

However I find I often want to edit the content, or more especially edit the subject line field to give me a very quick summary of what the the email is about. Any ideas? How can I do that. I expect to be told: You cannot, but try so and so instead... :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: So I am open to suggestion :mellow:

Have you had a try at picking up the e-mail and putting it in the drafts folder it works for me

I use Outlook which just may differ but here is what I do.

If I need to edit the subject line - I move the message into the draft folder like bhuk says, make changes to the subject line, save it, then move it to the appropriate storage folder. You cannot edit the text or attachments this way.

If I need to edit the content or attachments - I forward a copy to myself with the necessary changes. Clumsy but it works.

Actually in Outlook it is quite easy: Edit -> Edit Message. Edit the message and/or Subject line, then File -> Save.

Outlook Express may have a similar functionality. Or not?

Easy peasy. Click onto FORWARD. You can do what you want to it then. I always do this to avoid sending all the e-mail addresses at the top.

Good Tip :D and this method automatically pops it into my Drafts folder :P

yep it does differ Alan. I use outlook at work and it behaves very differently to OE, but its too big a program to use at home. :mellow:
