ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I like the Firefox 'Find' feature; CTRL+F will open it at the bottom of the browser. The Enter key will do a 'Find next', and another CTRL+F will bring the cursor back into the open 'Find' window. No problem with that :)But, sometimes after using Firefox for several hours, the 'Find' window suddenly opens without CTRL+F, and whatever I was just typing goes now into the 'Find' window. I close 'Find', reposition my cursor, then continue to type. Immediately 'Find' opens again. Every keystroke I do, 'Find' opens again.Very annoying :angry:The only way I can stop this behaviour is to close Firefox completely and restart it.Has any other Firefox user observed this behaviour? Is it a "feature"? Or a bug? Is there a way to turn it off without recycling FF?
-pops-
Not noticed it myself.Does it happen if just just open another Firefox window?I normally have four or five sites open all the time and tend to jump betweern them.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I usually have two or more tabs open. The problem starts when I am typing text into a text box, just as I do now. It doesn't matter whether 'Find' is already open or not. And once it starts, I can only stop it by closing FF.Also, it is not something new - I have experienced it since the prereleases of FF 1.0 :(
scuzzman
Haven't experienced this problem myself. Have you tried un/reinstalling FF completely?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I uninstalled 1.0 before 1.0.1, and uninstalled 1.0.1 before 1.0.2 (because old version remained in Add/Remove Programs). It didn't change anything.
expertec
Do you have this option set or un-set?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
It is set to ON (installation default?). I've unchecked it now and wait to see if it happens again. Thanks for that!
expertec
Is it cured? :)
