Setup will notify you there is already a windows folder, and ask you to pick a different one.After install, all files and folders will still be there, but programs will have to be re-installed. The reason I was wondering about it is because, providing we have the wind in the right direction and a strong hand at the helm, I am supposed to be being hooked up to BB at 8am Monday (onetel). I was just trying to prepare myself for the inevitable, particularly since I would be strictly incommunicado with NP. Trying to get any help out of Onetel by phone is a bit like trying to poke smoke up a cats a*se with a pin. It is also very expensive just waiting in a queue at their charges. catgate Posted July 22, 2005 Author Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 Unless Arconis is still not working...You must be psychic!!! :D I have formatted my CDs in UDF, and Acronis seems happy to copy a structure of C: drive to my CD, but the amount of space used on the CD is so small that, even given the commpresion ratio of the data, there is no way that it can have copied all the drive. r4may Posted July 22, 2005 Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 I think if you re install 'Over' the Old copy Al the applications will still work but I believe you loose and O/S updates that may have been applied so you will have to run the Good old update CD. The business with the Acronis copy CD is a bit of a puzzle, because when I "explore" it I am not sure if I am exploring the actual CD's contents or simply using the CD as a "map" to find things on the actual C: drive.
