missing file in IE-SPYAD

Recommended Posts

I am trying to update the latest IE-SPYAD program which I have previously done on at least 3 occasions without any problems.

I am getting a message' missing file' on the black box screen which shows after the download, I cannot proceed to either un-install the previous program or install the new program.

Dear Scarecrow Man, I did this as you said. This is where I am getting the message on the little black screen about a file missing and then saying for me to correct this before attemping un-install and intall new version.

I am stuck at the black pop up screen.

As I said this is my third upgrade---no problems in the past.

just double click the files, in the order I posted above, and you will see "Are you sure you wish to add the information in .../ie-ads-unist.reg to the registry?" Click yes, and when it is finished it will say "Information in .../ie-ads-uninst.reg has been sucessfully entered into the registry"

repeat for ie-ads.reg

this will uninstall and install the newest list.

Dear Scarecrow Man, I have now done exactly what you said and all messages appeared as you said.

It seems that I have updated the list. Is there any way I can prove I have the latest list?

I really appreciate everybody's help and I will continue to use this site even if I do live in Australia.

No, I am not decended from a convict, my Grandfather on my mothers side sailed from England to Australia in late 1800's [took 6mths] he then became a farmer in northern Victoria , married ,had 6 kids and died before I was born, that would be early 1940's.

My Grandfather on my Fathers side was born here and was the youngest person to go to the Boer war, he married age 40 to my Grandmother then age 20 , had 7 kids, and was a member of many things in his country Victorian town of Warracknabeal. He owned the biggest store in town, was president of the football club, grand master of the masons, chairman of his church and died aged 90 [ I was 15 then]

Hope it answers your question about my heritage.

Evidently many Aussies are trying their best to find convict ancestry. My sister is a naturalised Aussie and she said that many native Aussie friends are frantically looking to their past, in the hope of finding a felon.

IE-SPYAD: Installs to...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

IE-SPYAD2: Installs to...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

Check those locations using Start > Run > regedit and browsing to the location shown. This is your new list. As long as you have downloaded the updated files from here and either do the automatic, or manual install, the updated list is there.
