1/2var Posted August 15, 2005 Report Share Posted August 15, 2005 Hello!I have just installed an english version of Windows XP. The problem is, i have got a norwegian keyboard. Windows seems to rechognise the keyboard as a standard english keyboard, so the symbols on the buttons is not right, compared to what appears at the computer. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted August 16, 2005 Report Share Posted August 16, 2005 Hello, and welcome to the forum!There are two places where the keyboard is specified in Windows XP: in the Device Manager (physical keyboard), and in the Control Panel's Regional and Language Options (keyboard layout).I don't think you need to worry about the Device Manager, as long as the keyboard type (PS/2, USB) is correct, it will probably work.The keyboard layout, however, must be specified, otherwise the keys won't match. Go to Contol Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> tab Languages -> section Text services and input languages -> Details...Here you should be able to change your keyboard layout by either adding the Norwegian keyboard to the default English input service (then remove the US layout), or by adding a completely new Norwegian input service with a default Norwegian keyboard layout.You may need to restart Windows to get it activated. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted August 17, 2005 Report Share Posted August 17, 2005 As you can see, I have a Japanese keyboard :) Here are the steps to add the Norwegian keyboard layout I have a total of 119 kayboard layouts, from Albanian to Vietnamese, to chose from on my WinXP; I think you should have the same number, including two versions of Norwegian.
