JesseJ1935
Not mine this time, its my daughter's machine. The hard drive was reformatted a couple of weeks ago by my son-in-laws brother, who lives a long way away, and since then neither she, son-in-law or I can install her web cam which, with both being profoundly deaf, they rely on a lot to talk to friends.Firstly it is not connected in any way.Put in the installation CD and three options are given, namely to install a Mustek scanner; Twain drivers and the web cam. For this reason alone I am assuming it is a Mustek web cam though there is nothing at all on it to say so, not even a label, and my daughter can't remember.Click to install the cam, the screen goes green and installation starts, for all of 2 seconds. Up pops a box saying Error, it has System in the top blue bar. Click OK and there is another box which says installation cannot continue as it has detected that the cam is still connected, disconnect the cam and start again. As I said at the beginning, it is not connected and, for that matter, never has been to this computer, for reasons too lengthy to go into.Any ideas greatly appreciated. -pops-
Do you have a scanner, camera or other TWAIN device connected?Even if not, disconnect ALL USB/serial/parallel/firewire devices and then try to install the camera software.
