I have downloaded Firefox again after having a problem. Before, web pages would open in tabs but not now. I have also downloaded tabbrowser preferences but still still nothing opens in tabs like it did before.

Any ideas please.

• What version of Firefox do you have installed now?
  
• When you right-click on a link, do you have the option Open Link in New Tab? What happens if you select that?
  
• What happens when you type CTRL-T ?

Yes. New tab opens.

An untitled tag appears.

Before I downloaded the present version, tabs appeared automatically when I clicked on a link or one of my bookmarks.

However since my original post, I have found that by clicking the middle button on the mouse, links open in a new tab.

Is there any reason that you particularly dislike using IE? I got rid of Firefox almost right away, although a lot on here like it.

Still does not work. When I click on your link it opens in a new tab, but when I click on a bookmark it opens in the same tab.

I'm not a computer whiz, so this may be incorrect. (If so just disregard :D ) but on mine when I click on the bookmarks then hover over the folder I want at the very bottom, under the last link it says "Open in Tabs" and I click that if I want tabs and just click the link I want if I don't want tabs.

Hope that makes sense.

If there is only one link in the folder or if it's just a link not in a folder the tab option isn't there.

I think I might have the solution. Before, I am almost certain that I had this extension, as it places Tab on the menu bar.

From the info in the link it appears to be very unstable, so I will leave it alone and only use the middle button for opening more Tabs.

Is there any reason that you particularly dislike using IE? I got rid of Firefox almost right away, although a lot on here like it.

I prefer Firefox compared to last version of IE (6.0) because you can disactivate java and javascript more easily and set it to automatically delete cookies when you want. What else? Tabbed browsing is great (has IE come up with that yet?), you can open all your bookmarks in tabs, GUI themes are nice, it's supposedly less full of security holes than IE, and it looks nicer.
