Windows Media Player - No Dvd Sound

Recommended Posts

It's not my night tonight. The computer seems to have gone grumpy for some reason.

Its latest frustration is to refuse to play the sound track of a DVD Video from either of my DVD drives (I have a DC/DVD ROM and a CD/DVD Burner). It will play the video picture but no sound. It will also play music CD's no problem.

The DVD film is OK because I can play it using my DVD player - and last evening Windows Media Player was also playing DVD films and the sound was fine.

I have tried re-booting and restoring the computer back a couple of days but it has made no difference.

Anyone any ideas.

A friend of mine had a similar problem a few weeks ago and going into device manager and unistalling both drives then rebooting the computer and letting windows reinstall the drivers solved the problem.

Right click my computer/left click properties/left click hardware/left click device manager/right click your DVD drive/left click uninstall/ reboot computer.
