CD burner

Recommended Posts

So - we got the new burner - Sony CRX230AE

My comp IS compatable according to the box specs. But before the comp boots up I am getting 'sec slave drive ATAPI incompatable' - I then have to press F1 to continue. I have done a Pitstop test and the burner is not being recognised.

Hubby has checked and rechecked all the connections.

The computer is as normal - no other problems. Any ideas please?

On the back of the player a set of six or eight pins with one or two ,look like plastic things that go over two pins at a time, depending on which pins they/it conects, makes the drive master or slave, or cable select. If you have more than one drive ,one has to be a slave. Not very good at explaining so if this dosn't make sence then someone else can try.
