Guest Nellie2
I have some emails in Outlook express that I want to save to a separate drive and then put onto a CD before I wipe my hard drive......is there any way of doing this on mass or will I have to open them and 'save as' one by one? doug
I think you go into file/export. Then slect where it goes. I hope so because that's what I did before a reformat a few days ago and now realise I need to bring back ( My KB can't spell retreive) some information.
Chris
Search for DBX files in the OE folder.Use this a the search keyword *.DBXYou'll see XX amount of files just copy them over to CD. I guess this will be for the new Win XP Pro? Or in OE go to Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store folder > Change the folder to MY DOCUMENTS and the new the DBX files will be in MY DOCS just copy these new files. When you get everything backup and running you have to paste them back to the OE folder. Guest moon
DBXtract will save, or even recover, all your OE stuff.http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspxIt's free and works with Windows OS's.
Guest Nellie2
Thanks chaps....moon I will try that program when I get home tonight...if I don't like it then I will go the long way round following Powerless's instructions. Er... Doug, I think you can only export your folders to another email program which isn't much good if everything is going to be wiped. doug
Nel, you were so right. Now I've got to try and re-create some info that was in some e-mails that I thought had been reliably saved by the export method. :o
