andsome Posted December 28, 2005 Report Share Posted December 28, 2005 I have really messed up. I have accidentally deleted my Drive D where I store photo's. I have a full back up of the photo's on Drive C and also on a CD. However a system restore has NOT brought back drive D. I really meant to delete the info on my new plug in drive so that I could start again. I right clicked on the wrong drive and now it does not show uip in My Computer or Windows Explorer. It still shows up in Everest and also in Belark Advisor. It is shown as HEALTHY. I just cannot see it in Windows Explorer or My Computer. I have tried restarting and selecting DEL. When I rebooted I had a short message that New hardware had been found, MAXTOR. That dissapeared. The drive shows up again in Device manager, but NOT in Windows explorer or My Computer. andsome Posted December 28, 2005 Author Report Share Posted December 28, 2005 I don't know why I didn't think of it before. I telephoned Maxtor and a very nice young lady solved the problem for me. In device manager there was a drive 'O' showing, she said that that was my missing drive, and if I selected to format it, it would show up again. Sure enough all is well again.
