I have an issue on my laptop in that I get the following error'' C:\\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.html'' This hapens when I connect to my works webmail. I can connect to it on other machines, so the error must lie on my laptop. I get to logon but as soon as I do that then the error appears at the bottom of the explorer window. and as a result dont get connect to my inbox.

Any ideas. This only happens on my work inbox and on my latop as I say if I try someone elses webmail on another company server it is ok.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

While I wouldn't rule out the possibility of malware, I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so quickly. That shdoclc.dll is simply the IE error messages (namely, "Page cannot be displayed"). Are you able to ping the servers? If so, check the IP it resolves to. If that IP is 127.0.0.1, then the problem likely resides in your "hosts" file. If it resolves to a different address, check with the NOC/Network Admin at your work to verify it. If it fails to resolve, please let us know.

If you have any problems doing those things, please let us know and we'll do out best to help you sort them.

No problem, I will try Firefox at the weekend when i get home. I have disabled all firewalls, I have permanantly switched off Windows FW and use ZoneAlarm, with and with the FW enabled the same thing happens so it not a firewall issue either. Will try a different browser and let you know, thanks for your help so far
