Hi gang,

I'm getting this error message when I try to start my puta:

xxx+STOP:+0X0000001E+(0X00000005,+0X00000001,+0X00000000) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I have to switch off and restart, then I get another error message with something about dumping physical memory.

I switch off and restart a third time and everything works fine.

I think this is a common problem but I don't how to fix it. Can anyone provide a solution?

Thanks

jayno

Good question Andsome, but it appears not. I have run my whole system past NAV, Ewido, Spybot and Ad-Aware and they haven't spotted or fixed it.

MS and Symantec both say this problem is the Backdoor.NTHack trojan (that steals passwords!!), and that I need to remove the NewGina value from the Registry, but there is no sign of either of these files anywhere on the system.

I'm stumped. My next step is supposed to be that of using Windows Recovery or a parallel install to remove these things, but if they're not there in the first place I feel most reluctant to do this procedure. I'm wary of ballsing up Windows itself.

If I do a complete re-install of W2k calling it "Windows2" .. 1) I'm not exactly sure how to do that, and 2) what do I do with Windows1?

Any advice?
