Kevin Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 "A runtime error has occured. Do you wish to debug?" I get this error quite a few times aday, and i have no idea what it means. If i click yes, it brings me to microsoft script editor, and gives me another error message there as well. I've got to the point where i'm clicking "no" everytime it comes up. It pops up in the least likely situations, such as when i go to google.com, and when i click on a submit button. It'll give me a line number and an error message such as "object doesn't support this property or method" It gives me a different error message for different times it comes up. Does anyone know what this means? Is there an upgrade i can do? It only started happening when i installed Microsoft Office 2003. This probably has something to do with it, but how do i fix it? Normally this is an error that originates from the website you are browsing. I think the pop-up can be disabled in the IE settings - don't know where (I haven't used IE in ages). -pops- Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 In IE open Tools -> Options -> Advanced. Scroll down to "Disable Script Debugging" and tick the boxes. Move to "Display a notification about every script error" and UNtick the box. You won't be troubled again.Don't worry about getting these messages - they indicate an error in the page you are looking at, not one in your computer. Kevin Posted February 9, 2006 Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2006 Well actually I have MSN Explorer 9.0 dial-up, but I believe that MSN uses IE as a backbone, so I went to Internet Explorer, and i went to the options, Advanced, as suggested above, and the "Disable Script Debugging for Internet Explorer" was checked, and "Display information about script error" was unchecked, so i'm assuming this problem lies within MSN, although i can't find the MSN Explorer Settings. I'll contact MSN and see if they can tell me how to disable script debugging. Thanks for your help though. If you have any more suggestions, i'd be more than happy to hear them.
