chelonian Posted February 9, 2006 Report Share Posted February 9, 2006 I can't seem to get any sound on my pc, any ideas what could be causing this? i've checked in Sound and Audio Device properties to ensure the speakers haven't been muted, and also checked everything has been plugged in correctly. If all volume controls are set (in windows, on the speaker and in the application) and nothing is muted, then perhaps a system restore is the way to go.You could also try re-installing your audio drivers.Have you removed your iPod using the "Safely remove hardware" button? Scarecrow Man Posted February 9, 2006 Report Share Posted February 9, 2006 System restore can be done by going to:Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.Choose a date before you noticed the sound was gone.As for drivers, it depends on what Sound Card you have. Scroll down to Sound, video and game controllers, and click on the [+] on the left. Somewhere in there you have your sound card.Right-click on the sound card -> Properties -> tab Driver. You should be able to see the driver version there.If you give us all these information (sound card and driver version), someone here can tell you where to find the latest driver.One more option: does your computer have a hardware volume control? If so, check if it is turned on. Can you tell us your computer model; maybe someone can tell you where the possible HW volume control might be.
