Tankus Posted May 30, 2003 Report Share Posted May 30, 2003 An insurance company called Amulet texted 2500 employees and told them that they had lost their job, Then texted again, for them to phone a number for a recorded message from Price Waterhouse Cooper (The receivers) Which stated that , if they had not been personally contacted by HO not only had they lost their job ,but there was no money to pay them for their last months work..........The staff had no inkling that the company was in trouble .....They were still taking staff on 1 month ago.And its not illegal to do this.............. The problem is everyone wants to work in world where no-one is blamed for anything. If you think about it, it's the fault of the dishonest claimants as to why insurance premiums are so high. I'm afraid the good guys and gals in this world pay for all the dishonesty.I've just been told I'm "at risk" of redundacy. The organisation I worked for was dissolved at the end of December. Another organisation took over and I thought my job was safe - but apparently not. They've had a re-think and say some jobs have got to go. I think they were only after the building assets. The annoying thing is that the organisation went to the wall because of incompetent managers. The hard-working staff kept things going for years without any support from above, otherwise it would have folded earlier. And yet these same incompetent, management gits :angry: were rewarded by either being early retired on enhanced pensions or have found a cushy number with the new organisation and their fat pay packets are protected for three years. I'm one of the management gits........(lower middle)Im not going to go in to it , But Ive had the police in today due to a threat of physical violence by a member of the public .... This was after I was spat at ..................Not worth pressing charges as Ill only have a problem after work......I know how it works.................The s*** comes from both directions.........................!Pressure from above to hit targets and manage margins , pressure from staff ,because we are under full time complement (due to wage capping and no OT allowance) so they take sickies as part of their annual time off allowance...due to low moral...yet Ive still got to juggle, to make it work ,reach targets and meet minimum admin standards......! I'm rather depressed tonight ....could not be arsed to go out ....just drinking beer ..looking here......!Think I feel any more secure that you Pete...?.....even less ! (I say senior because I too am classed as a manager!! :( ) You can rant on until you are blue in the face about what is needed to meet targets etc........ but noooooooo.
