Delete program in DOS

Recommended Posts

What error are you getting?

You cannot uninstall from DOS. You can only run an uninstallation file, ususally labeled, uninstall.log or uninstall.ini. Sometimes a install program will use a /u switch, and refer to the log to uninstall a program.

I'm getting setupDLL.cpp (439) error

error code -5001

How can I uninstall this program????

Thanks,

Biff

From what I can find, this may be a problem with the Windows Installer or a poor example of programming on the part of Ulead.

You cannot uninstall from MSDOS as that system is not used in the current versions of Windows. They use Calderrra DOS which is not as accessible or compliant as the old system.

You could try:

1. Repairing Windows Installer http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;290301

2. Trying to remove the offending program in Safe Mode.

3. If the installation is recent, a System Restore or a restore from backup to a time before the program was installed.

4. Contact Ulead and ask them about it.

Before doing any alterations, make sure you have a backup of your system as it is at the moment.
