humbletech99 Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 9, 2006 The network has around 60-80 hosts, half desktops half servers, a mixture of Windows and Linux/Samba.What I am actually using is \\host which is a shortcut for \\hostname. In fact there are two machines on the network called hostname and hostname2. host2 is a shortcut to hostname2.The error above happens from different machines. I've already tried pinging host and it resolves to hostname which it should. I don't know why the \\host gives the above error about duplicate hostnames. Maybe it's getting confused that host could be short for hostname or hostname2?I need a definite way to find which other machine on the network is resolving to \\host...
