ghotik
Both of these apps are set to run at startup. McAfee is a bully who intimidates all other apps until it has 1) checked for updates and 2) downloaded and installed them. ZoneAlarm rules the internet connection with an iron fist. It locks the whole thing unit it is fully loaded. You can see where this is going.Problem: ZoneAlarm consistantly drags it's feet at startup and between its locking of the internet connection and McAfee's bullying, nothing fast happens. My question is: Is it possible to raise ZoneAlarms priority at startup? I doubt I can do that in my StartUp directory (that's not where it happens anyway), nor do I see how to do it in msconfig either. Anyhelp would be appreciated and here's some Thanks in advance. Boris
You could try this ?http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelayIts freeware.Startup Delayer allows you to setup how many seconds after Windows has started, to load each program. For Example: If you have your mail program and a special clock starting up, then you can make your mail start say 10 seconds after Windows has loaded, and then the special clock start 20 seconds after Windows Starts.Compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
ghotik
Looks nifty. But I was hoping to just modify ZoneAlarm's startup priority without having to install anyother programs. Thanks though. Perhaps someone could queue me on such a feature in msconfig or regedit.

andsome
Use Startup Inspector and get rid of programs that don't NEED to be running immediately after start up.Startup InspectorMake sure that it's Startup Inspector that you download, not Startup Monitor.
