Windows toolbar question

Recommended Posts

I'm having a problem with my windows tool bar. I'm running an hp laptop with win xp media center edition. When I uninstalled all of the norton software that came with it, the battery icon dissapeared from the toolbar and I can't get it back. I've gone into tool bar options and set it for always show that icon. I've also gone into power options and checked always show an icon. Still nothing. I'd really like to have that icon back so I can keep an easy eye on the battery, I am just missing something simple here? Thanks.

Have you tried running a system file check? Insert the installation CD and stop it from auto running. Go to Start/Run and type sfc /scannow with a space after sfc. Click OK and see if that does any good.
