Folder viewing

Is there a way to keep a default of the way windows will view folders and files in Explore? If given the option to see the folders and files by: Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List and Details, Can I keep one or the other as the "Default" so I dont have to continually change this setting? Will this also take effect in all windows ie. standardized?

In Control Panel/Appearances and Themes/Folders/View - there is an option there to change all folders to the view that you want. I'm not sure if they will then become the default but the ones I have changed have stayed that way and I don't have to keep changing them. Win XP.

In Folder Options, under 'View'. Scroll down and make sure the box is ticked for 'Remember each folder's view settings.'

That should do it.

I did that so I hope that they will stay as I set them for the first time. Thanks.
