Thank u for responding so fast

wizmo doesnt do it u see, ok! what i am looking for is sometimes when i am just playing mp3 on my computer , when i hit any key any my keyboard to say for instance pause, mute, next tract, etc the monitor powers up thats the problem.

or when i have to defrag the next drive when defragmenting

I could have just switched off my monitor but I read somewhere that when the monitor is turned off by APM some filament thingie is not completely turned off but still warmed upto a level and that is supposed to prolong the monitors' life

mine called the "off switch " ..(its a button with a blue flashy light thingy ) ..works every time

the blue light makes my computer go faster ... Ive got an even bigger one ..on the front of the case ...

I'll come again I read somewhere that turning the monitor on/off with the off switch/powering off more than once in 31min harms ur computer

buuut with the APM system some important part of it is not turned off bywhich the life of the monitor is prolonged..

But again my sources could be wrong.........actually I dont remember my sources but these still are simple features which could be added on a software like the above one

OK i explain again I turn on my monitor every 15min or so

and doing so with the switch as I said I think is harmful for the monitor

I just narrate a clip

just listining to some pink floyd no need for the monitor switch off moniter whilst playing mp3 and installing some ridiculously bloated program

15min some sound on my messenger anything useful or something I want to check the thing I am installing has finished or not..

for which I have to switch on the moniter with the switch

no so turn off it with the switch

10min has it finished no.. swithc off(with switch again)

so u can do the maths on how many times i have to cycle the on/off switch

which i said is harmful to the life of the monitor

why not use the windows APM well then when I press the next track key it comes on.. when I press the previous track it comes on when all I have to do is change the drive I want to defragment(the windows defragment program does need a feature for this) which I can do without visual help it comes on

If you are worried about using the switch on the monitor to turn it off, why not just plug the monitor into a cheap power strip (connected to your surge protector) and turn off the monitor with the switch on that strip? :)

Nop, i am actually worried about turning it completly off instead of the Adavanced power Management off

that way the parts of the monitor that get harmed when u "cut out the electricity" or push the switch too frequently I mean the electric components of the monitor(not the switch) are not damaged because as I read somewhere they are not turned off

It is possible that you could ruin your monitor by turning it on and off. By the way, Wizmo will do what you want it to do.

Since wizmo is a command line program, you must either use command line, or a shortcut to turn it off.

1. Make a new shortcut to the location of wizmo.exe

2. Name it whatever you like and finish the wizard.

3. Right click > Properties

4. Add -monoff to the end of the target command.

5. Assign a hotkey for this shortcut.

A bit of work, but it can save you from pressing the power button all the time. You can also use the shortcut to turn it off.

:)

I have started to use WIZMO after You suggested it .. I looked around but couldn't find anything it must be that I am very bad at looking for things ..WIZMO does help ..thank you for showing it.

But in WIZMO when I press any key on the monitor comeson again with the monoff command the mouse sensitivity can be disabled but not the keyboard sensitivity(except of course a keyto turn it on is needed ofcourse) ..

I have requested to the authour for the feature hopefully he will consider it..

By disable the keyboard I mean for it to not turn-on on a keypress except for a specialkey to turn it on.
