I got this message to reboot as the screen went peculiar.I rebooted and it was back to normal and I got this msg to report incident to Microsoft, so did. they put up a screen, then saying it was a product of Silicon Intergrated Systems Corp problem and to go to them.I did. They had no links on this download screen or FAQ and had a variety of driver (updates? maybe) for verious windows.I use XP Home. I tried to find out my graphics version but couldnt find it anywhere. I have Belac so did an update and it found one SIS so had a look at that and it version was 6.13.10.2061 VGA Driver. Now went back to SIS download site - nothing matched, but then had a look at first one and downloaded that, now I am stuck with it sitting in my program start up file where I put all programs and when I open it - no wizard - just a lot of cons with what they are- tried set up - nothing.What do I do next and have I stuffed up?I have no idea where to find this driver in my system other than using Belarc. :0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What you should check next is exactly what graphics or display driver you have - it's under the section Display.Post back here what you find, and someone will help you to find if there is a newer or better driver software available (and where you can download it from). Installing the wrong graphics driver can have some stupid consequences. e.g. Windows may be able to boot up, but you can't see a thing on your monitor. Is this it?By the way Ccleaner found 197 bits of left over items on registry and computer is running faster now or maybe Im kidding myself I do do a restore point before I do anything as I am just learning as I go.A step by step how to get to identify would be helpful, imagine I am newly out of the egg and I will be able to follow :DClick start, scroll up to control panel (right hand side of box) and click on it, display will be listed there in alphabetical order, double click on it.I did that and got up the window for screen savers and how you like to have your colours etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lamb Chop Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 2, 2006 Oh dear I think I have a corrupted download of this driver as it will not install over top of drivers - just has this install which goes on and on left it for over an hour and still going.Got a bit scared then just in case, so stopped it. Did a restore and found that that mucked up my meter so had to reset that as nearly to end of my allowance. Not much for your dollar here. Unlike my sister in UK who gets 2Gbs on bb for her minimum payment, I get 250Mb for my second up the tier of payments - first off is 70Mbs and I thought never would use up mine. Ha :D Anyway, had a look at properties on some of the icons and got this message saying initialization failed etc. This means it is corrupt or not?I did get this too quick to read it all flash up as I had finished downloding saying something like corrupt and then it was gone.If I have to download another driver, have to wait until next allowance which starts on 14th. Nearly out of mbs. :0 What happens if I use attachment on this post, will it upload a copy of the driver file. I have it now zipped and unzipped in my program start up file.
