danezeq
Hello everybody. this is my first post here :-)i'll be glad if someone help me solve this problem.the problem expressed in two different ways, but i guess it's caused by the same error. When i'm trying to scan a doc with the Scanner and camera wizard i can't scan a prewiew image.when i click on "preview" button i get this message:Nevertheless, i can still commit a fully scan.but watch this, there is something suspicious while the scanner is scanning - there is no preview (on the right)anyway, there's no problem with the scanning eventually - the file was seccsefully made.BUTAnother symptome of the error, and a more serious one, is happening when i'm trying DRAGGING files from the camera window (by windows explorer) to the HD.i get nothing. the files won't copy and i get no error messge. just nothing.that goes to CTRL+C & CTRL+V too. i can't copy the files unless i use the scanner and camera wizard.thanks a lot! :(
-pops-
Welcome to WF.Are you able to scan successfully using the software provided with the camera and/or scanner?I have to say that I've never used the inbuilt wizard in Windows for doing either operation but always used the program provided with, and specific to, the hardware.Like most of the Windows "addons", the Camera and Scanner Wizard is most likely software bought in from elsewhere, modified to suit Windows and to be all things to all users but the result is, as you seem to be finding, less than good. I may be wrong in this but it certainly applies in other Windows extras.
andsome
If you do not have specific software for your Canon scanner, you will almost certainly be able to download it from the Canon website.
korgg
For the first one you may want to wait w while untill the scanner head moves back to its starting positon. But you may try some other scanning utility. the second one is wierd, at least. Try the drag and drop holding the right click and select from there Copy or Move or whatever is there .. :)
r4may
I always use the software provided by the scanner's manufacturer and have no problems, the wizard doen't even see my scanner. It would be best if you used the manufacturer's specific software for your scanner,
danezeq
Thanks for your replies.I need that "free exploring" option of windows especially when i use the carema.i'm sure there is a way to re-install that "addon" of windows.is it a file? something in the registry?maybe there is a fix for that?btw i discovered that if the camera has folders in it, when i try copy the folder to the HD, it copies the folder but without the files in it. the folder stays empty.i'm desperate. :(
-pops-
Have you even tried using the camera/scanner software? Far from Windows wizards giving "free exploring", I usually find them very restrictive.
