nellie2
Not sure if this will work... but it is worth a try. Uninstall the modem and then shut down. Remove the hardware from your computer completely and reboot. Then follow the correct procedure for installing the modem, so if you have to install the software/drivers first then do that and then re-install the hardware. cozofdeath
Just an idea, try typing this in a command prompt "CACLS <full path to .dll or .ocx(Probdis.exe)> /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R" or just enter these two commands to make every dll and ocx file readable. CACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.dll /E /G BUILTIN\Users:RCACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.ocx /E /G BUILTIN\Users:RTell how u made out with this. -pops-
Not of direct help but, if I were the owner of any piece of hardware that gave me the run-around like this, said hardware would have been thrown a very long distance by now and replaced with something that worked properly. If the modem is within its warranty period, get it exchanged for another one which functions properly.I also feel that US Robotics should be taking more interest in your problem - it may well affect others. Yea i wish i could just throw it over a freakin bridge, But then i wouldn't have anything.. If the modem is within its warranty period, get it exchanged for another one which functions properly. Well this is like the second or third one now and they only seem to work so-so good for only so long, You know , " Just until the warrenty runs out.?? "I also feel that US Robotics should be taking more interest in your problem - it may well affect others.Yea their idiots, I've e-mailed them several times and they always tell me the same thing..
