Zae@CyberTLC
I want to do a complete system restore BUT I want to back up all my music, pictures, and everything I have saved on this hard drive. The music part is easy...I just would like to know is there a way to do a backup for all the pictures, videos and misc files that I have? Does it have to be done on CD or can my files be saved on my hard drive...Any tutorials or advice you have would be greatly appreciated. -pops-
If you are on XP, check in the Help files and find out about the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard which will do all that you want. :)
-pops-
I've just read your other post.My suggestion above may not be as easy as I thought if you have odd bits of other operating systems installed.
Zae@CyberTLC
lol. That sucks..well thanks for your help. I figured out how to boot from my restore disks but I still haven't figured out how to really get my drives back. I just want a clear slate. Do you think that's possible without deleting EVERYTHING? I just want to keep certain files.

rong
If you put a separate partition on the hard drive, you can just drag the pictures over. this will not be affected by the reinstall.
WF Support Account
Running the windows backup program will work for you. You can backup to just about any media however you must know what and where the files are. You can find the windows backup at Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Backup. If you have your music in the winxp music folder(C:\documents and settings\profile\my documents\my music\) and your pics in the pics folder it will be very easy for you. If not start searching for them ex. *.jpg, *.gif, *.bmp
