kalas
I just recently replace the power supply on my computer. When I log off windows shuts down but not my hard drive. I run home xp and sp2.
rong
Did your psu blow up, or have you just changed it. Mine went bang and now the fans in the pc run all the time, but not the ones in the psu. I switch it off at the mains. If you have the same problem I would think you need a new Mother board, or just switch it off at the mains. -pops-
Did you alter any of the connections on the motherboard apart from the 20 or 24 pin plug that usually fits near to the CPU?The thing you are describing often indicates that the connectors to the power on switch/reset/etc have been disturbed or removed. You may wish to check these - usually at the bottom, right of the motherboard.
cozofdeath
Make sure everything is perfect. Jumpers/power/power cord from mobo to front of case. And make sure your using the correct IDE cable(40-pin,80-pin) because a guy here had a similar problem. Hope some of that helps.
