Louis
I have windows 2000 professional and windows 98 installed and suddenly the display became dark blue and then I figured out there is no red color in the diplay. I tried re-booting the machine, re-installing the graphic display device drivers but nothing helpled. I badly need your help. Any idea or suggestions? scuzzman
Sorry, but I think your monitor's on its way out. CRT monitors have 3 different "guns" on the inside that fire electrons at the display. When one goes out, you will experience a loss of that color. These guns are red, green, and blue and they mix to make all colors. I'd reccomend trying a different monitor if you've got one available. And I've moved this to the hardware forum and deleted your existing post there. Louis
But my monitor is a 19' LCD and I tried different monitors and got the same result. All those monitors are fine on other computers. That's why I am sure this is the computer problem not the monitor. I tried to search online but could not find any thing useful to me. cozofdeath
Try using the buttons on the monitor. They should give you an option to turn up or down your red.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Ok, you have two different Windows systems, and it occurs on both - so it's not a software problem. You tried with different monitors, so it's not the monitor.Meaning your red color gets lost somewhere between the graphics card and the monitor. Have you tried a different cable? If yes, then it must be between the graphics card and the connector.

I am wondering if there is any graphics card diagnose tool can help me.

After I pulled out the cable from the monitor and re-plugged in I got the red color back. Thanks!!
-pops-
OK, this is me being wise after the event but this is a problem I've seen several times, more often than not the reason is that the cable is not secured by the retaining screws at all or that these screws are not fully tightened - thus enabling the connector to lose contact.A bit of advice - if your connector (monitor cable, serial port, parallel port and whatever else) has the facility to be secured by screw retainers, always use them and fully tighten them. I thought if it's not plugged properly, it would not display.Any way this forum is helpful, thank you all!
