No. All the items of SP1 are included with SP2.

(Note: no questions are stupid. You asked because you didn't know and we're always happy to pass on information that we may have and that you don't.)

Thank you very much, I always used to install both, but never bothered to ask if it was nec. Who knew?

Others questions are not stupid, but mine... I dunno.

That's a reasonable question. The fact is Service Pack 2 or SP2 actually includes ALL SP1 updates, plus any new updates since then.

A Service Pack is simply all updates released since the last service pack (or original release) wraped into one package for easy installation.

Rather than installing 50+ updates individually, you can install 1 Service Pack.
