AlanHo
I am very concerned at the relentless closure of sub post offices around the country. Potential armed robbers need them to hone their skills. First year apprentice robbers practicing mugging and pickpocketing will also be affected because of the lack of defenceless old people walking to the sub post office to collect their meagre pensions.I sometimes feel that the government make decisions oblivious of the consequences to the youngsters who are struggling to learn a profession. When will it end?

AlanHo
We are getting off topic here - I had no wish to start a thread about Guy Fawkes - but to try and gain some support for keeping open our sub post ofices for a number of reasons, including the ones quoted. Those of you who live in rural locations should be concerned about this - your youth have little opportunity for gainful employment and need to learn a trade. It will be difficult - if not impossible - for them to become professional criminals if they lack opportunities to practice. They are no longer able to abuse policemen who today are rarely seen outside a police station, rural shops are closing which severely reduces the opportunity for shoplifting and sheep rustling is unpopular because their motives may be misunderstood.
