Coreper Posted June 27, 2006 Report Share Posted June 27, 2006 This disorder/error occured a few weeks ago and still lasts...:When i try to print from Outlook Express [newest version] it doesnt seems to auto correct the message to the size of the paper... [like in MSWord you type and automatically jumps to the next line]Is this error inside Outlook Express or my Printer?and how can i adjust it?My Printer:HP Offijet 5510 all-in-one with the most recent software available through the updatesBTW: we are having some problems lately [this week] with our printer:-it prints text with a shadow when you havent even applied it, like it used to {thatss because of the print cartridge}-when you add thick paper to the normal paper line-up, it cant seem to grab the paper normally and messes it up > folded and ripped! [once!] and slanting text on the paper-and it sometimes it doesnt even grab the normal paper...!please help me out here! Jouw adressen heb ik op de totaalllijst aangevuld. Wanneer zou ik jouw aanpassingen op de begeleidende brief die zoals ik jou vertelde door -------- (de tekstschrijfster) is geschreven, kunnen ontvangen? Anders wordt het misschien alsnog "krap" om de uitnodigingen te versturen en voor de vakantie nog een reactie terug te krijgen. Ik wil toch eigenlijk wel voor half juli weten hoeveel mensen er mee gaan (dit moet ook wel mogelijk zijn). Weet je inmiddels ------- de kamers voor deze data heeft gereserveerd? Zoals ik jou vertelde was het andere jaren altijd zo dat wij in overleg met ---------- de data bepaalden (is dus gebeurd) en dat -------------------- daarbij direct zo'n ----- kamers reserveerden (dus eigenlijk vooruitlopend op de aanmeldingen). Het teveel aan kamers konden wij altijd tot ca. een week voor aanvang van de reis kostenloos annuleren. Het is wel erg belangrijk dat wij nu al weten of ------- deze kamers al gereserveerd heeft. -pops- Posted July 4, 2006 Report Share Posted July 4, 2006 The skew (angled) printing is due to the paper feeder rollers not gripping the paper correctly at one side. This may be due to the roller having become smooth. I'm not familiar with that model of printer but you should be able to access those rollers. If you can, rub them with the eraser that comes on the top of a pencil to roughen the surface. Regarding your other problem, have you tried another printer to see if you get the same effect? andsome Posted July 12, 2006 Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 I don't very often print anything direct from Outlook Express. Why not try pasting into a word document first and print from there. In any case there is obviously something wrong with the printer if it is printing on the skew, hence pops suggestion to try and correct this. -pops- Posted July 12, 2006 Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 Skew problems in a printer are caused by the paper gripper rollers at one side not functioning correctly, most likely by being worn smooth or by having something wrapped around them. That was the reason for my suggestion of using an abrasive such as the eraser on the end of a pencil to roughen the surface of the roller. Another possibility is that if the printer has been used for printing excessively thick card then the paper feed mechanism may have been strained such that it no longer works correctly.Regarding the line running on during printing, I rarely print out emails, neither do I use OE (I use Outlook) but I have noticed that emails in plain text (without any formatting) run on in the way you are complaining about whereas the ones in HTML or rich text retain their original layout. Could this be your problem?If I do need to print out text emails, like andsome, I always copy and paste into Word before printing. that way you can ensure that you retain all of the text. I cannot understand your apparent reluctance to try pops suggestion. Regarding pasting being too much work, either he wants the documents right or he doesn't, it's personal choice.
