Yeh.......what is that about? I'm 53 (A Very young looking 53 obviously) and I have a 3 year old grandson! We had him for a fortnight whilst his parents were on holiday........and I was a basket case when he went home!!!! Absolutely love him to bits but the thought of starting all over again at the age of 62 or whatever is mind numbing! I'm sure they'll give him all the love in the world, but what they won't be able to give is the energy, attention and unfortunately.... the longevity.......that we would wish for all our kids! School sportsdays, parents evenings etc., will all ask questions of that situation! I wish them all the best in the world but..................everyone to their own I suppose.....it wouldn't be for me!!

It's most unfair on the child. leaving school and probably having to take on the job of looking after elderly parents, that is if they are still alive. No chance of your own children ever having a grandparent. It's totally against nature. All they have thought of is what they personally want, and bugger what is likely to be good for their child. Selfishness in the extreme.
