JesseJ1935 Posted July 19, 2006 Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 All of a sudden every time I start, or restart, I am being asked to reinstall Document Viewer. It starts off by trying to configure it, then tells me it needs to be reinstalled and to insert the CD-ROM. What CD-ROM? Clicking on 'Cancel' only takes me back to the start of the process again. The only way I can get rid of it is by using Task Manager > End Task. It appears to be something to do with .NET Framework as that is shown on one of the messages that come up.I've searched both Microsoft and Google, neither comes up with any association between Document Viewer and .NET Framework. The only thing I can think of at present is to remove the .NET Framework, I've already tried Repair, and see if that stops it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have absolutely no idea why .NET Framework was showing in one of the messages I was getting, it turned out to be nothing to do with that at all, it was something that had gone missing from my printer (HP) installation. I cottoned on to that when I started getting another message about the Fax part was missing and it wanted to install it, the same messages I was getting for the Document Viewer were coming up, the only difference being, of course, was that they showed Fax unstead.
