Hello i installed linux-suse as a dual bootup but i cannot get on with linux at all,i want to remove linux from my hard drive but do not know how to do it(if i can do it)so has anyone any ideas in novice pc user how to remove it.

There are two ways to go about this.

Safest way is probably boot to an XP CD and fixmbr, it should overwrite grub. If for whatever reason it doesn't work, a combo of fixboot and fixmbr and maybe even bootcfg /rebuild should do the trick (if it can't find your boot.ini, but you shouldn't need to do bootcfg)

Then go into disk management and delete the unknown partitions and create new NTFS partitions

Or

A standard ms-dos bootdisk will also work, just issue the command fdisk /mbr to overwrite the mbr. As far as the reiserfs partitions are concerned, windows disk management in XP/2000 will see them as unknown partitions but still allow you to delete them, and create new ntfs partitions.

i am sorry but i am a bit of a novice as far as understanding Alan2273

the trouble being is that i lost my xp prof. disk so when my pc broke down a while ago the repair shop installed xp prof. for me,i have the linux disks,is there a way of using these to uninstall?

Which version of SuSe are you using version 10 or 10.1 ?.
