catgate
The country's teenagers certainly appear to be doing much better, edecationally, than the many generation who have gone before. The pass level nationally in A levels has gone up to a new all time record of 96.6%. It would seem that examinations are a waste of time...everyone's a winner. What a wonderful education service we have. It's just a pity that so many forget it all when they walk out of the school door.
dadyassa
Maybe the kids want an education more than we did, so try harder ?
andsome
Unfortunately Catgate is more than likely correct. It is a sad fact that many employers complain about the poor quality of education in prospective young employees. Too many university students these days take courses which are of no use to an employer. Subjects such as philosophy, business studies, theology etc etc. There are too few science and engineering students.
Lamb Chop
96.6% eh - well I never Gobsmacked - NOT  :P Couldnt be of course that the bench marks are so low that even the school cat can get a pass Yep - political correctness and its offshoot, affimative action, are alive and well in the land of hope and glory as they are right here in Oz.
